Who’s Your Pick For the Finals MVP?

Ok, I know it’s ironic to already discuss about the finals MVP when the NBA Finals series itself hasn’t even started yet. Anyway I would just like to share to you my views on the possible candidates for the finals MVP.

If Orlando Wins

  • Dwight Howard – First and foremost, Dwight Howard is the star player (franchise player if you will) of the Magic team. Even though on some ocassions he does look like a snub especially on the offensive mantra of the Magic team, we cannot ignore the fact that he had a superb series against the Cavaliers. Of course Cleveland only had Z, Ben and Anderson to guard him. But Lakers has who to guard him? Andrew Bynum? Well if D. Howard can dominate the inside, he’s a super pick for the MVP award.
  • Rashard Lewis – Rashard is an interesting pick for me because again he’s playing a spot where he has a decisive advantage. The Lakers might go with a smaller lineup where Lamar Odom is the PF, hence is a better matchup for Lewis rather than putting Gasol. Still anyway he’s a great pick for an alternative MVP if the Magic bags this one.

If L.A and Phil Jackson wins -

  • Kobe Bryant – Uhhm, do I need an explanation? Kobe is the main man of LA. Enough said!

  1. D.J. Mbenga anyone? Come on now.

  2. Matt,

    Funny Gerard. :) I
say D. Howard, but if the Lakers win, what about Pau?

  3. About Pau: if he doesn’t get the ball this series, the Lakers will have a difficult time with Orlando.

  4. Matt,

That’s for sure. I hope this is an amazing series!

  5. ark,

After one game, Kobe is out to dominate. He wants to win his 4th crown badly. There’s too much at stake for him. Too much to prove. Even if the Magic wins, Kobe might just be the 2nd player in NBA history to win the MVP from a losing team.
