With the hype of the All Star Weekend over, its now time to face the exciting trade deadline. Trade Deadline is basically a day wherein most teams do last minute roster revamps, either to boost their way up or to clear more cap space for long-term purposes.
This year is no different. A lot of teams are rumored to do some deals and for me its just very exciting to see who’s gonna get traded and who’s team will benefit more. I know most teams today are really planning to shore their lineup (ala Phoenix Suns and Dallas Mavs last season) to be more “competitive” this playoffs. Just can’t stop looking at all NBA rumor’s site to see whats happening
Anyway here are some names that are rumored to be shipped out of their teams (bigger names of course, I dont care much about bench players):
- Amare Stoudamire – probably his last game in Phoenix last Sunday?
- Vince Carter
- Tracy McGrady
- Wally Sczerbiak (nice expiring $12 contract)
- Tyson Chandler (dunno why) -update – he’s already been traded to the Oklahoma Thunder
- Antawn Jamison
- Raef LaFrentz
- Raymond Felton
- etc…
Obviously, some other players who are not in the list can be traded (as a throw-in or so) as well… What are your insights about the trade deadline and the rumored names?

The Chandler thing was akward, to say at least. Like he said himself, the trade was recinded because of an old toe injury, but after he had surgery on it, he hasn’t missed a game because of that. The irony is that docter who performed the surgery on him, was now the team doctor of the Hornets who advised against the trade. Who knew?
