Everyone visiting this site probably knows BasketballNonsense.com is rooting for the Orlando Magic (unless Matt disagrees) to win the finals. I’ve been cheering so hard for Orlando all series long and to see the Magic blow this one is just so disappointing.
The Magic seemed to have the Lakers numbers all game long until Derek Fisher hit that three to force overtime. I couldn’t really add anything more! Why is D-Howard not shooting well this series? I thought he can carry over the momentum he had against the Cavs but I’m wrong. Rashard has struggled, Rafer has struggled but again the Magic managed to stay competitive. Any thoughts?

It could have been easily 3-1 in Magic’s favor in this series if not for Lee’s Game alley-oop layup miss and Howard’s free-throw problems. As we all know, the Lakers won both games in OT.
This just goes to show that playoff experience is really a big factor in these close games. How players respond to the challenge and how they can keep their cool in the face of adversity is very important.
Kobe and the Lakers being already in this kind of situation before and using their last year’s loss against the Celtics as a motivating factor was important on how the games finished in their favor. They should win this series in 5 or 6 games. There’s no reason for them not to. It will be a collapse of cataclysmic proportion should the Magic bounce back somehow and turn the tide on their favor.
But I doubt that. The Lakers will win it and Kobe will finally get his championship ring without someone named Shaq by his side. But Dwight is still young. He will still have his chance. After all, Shaq was swept in his first try.
Good insight Ark. Hopefully D. Howard will get another shot in the next few years. Can’t believe the Shaq to Ceveland rumors, could put a huge road block in Orlando’s way!
