Nelson Wants Crawford Out

According to some sources close to the team, Don Nelson wants Jamal Crawford to opt-out in his contract this offseason. Nelson is apparently looking to retool his backcourt and appears that Crawford may not be a part it in the near future. Sources also said that if Crawford wouldn’t opt-out, the Warriors would trade him anyway.

“I’m not even getting into that,” Crawford said before Friday’s game, in which he led the Warriors with 25 points. “Any conversation I have with the coaches or my teammates will remain private.”

Crawford was acquired in a trade early this season in exchange for Al Harrington going to the Knicks. Crawford’s game is suitable for the run and gun Warriors but the trade is still questionable given the fact they already have a loaded backcourt. The trade also sucks given the fact that the Warriors are loaded with ballhog and most of these ballhogs have very lengthy contracts. Poor Warriors!
