Finally, after the limbo that the two teams have experienced a couple of weeks back, the trade has already done. Jason Kidd along with Malik Allen and Antoine Wright were traded to the Mavs for up and coming Devin Harris, Desagana Diop, Maurice Ager, Keith Van Horn, first round picks this June and in 2010, and a cold hard cash worth $3 million. Of course the most anticipated part of it is the Van Horn signing who just needs to pretend he cares for Basketball.
Ok let’s discuss the deal for Mavericks. The Dallas got the never-aging Kidd and some junks. Ok, I hate Eddie Johnson. I hate everything he says. But I think I have to agree with him on this one. The Suns Mavs gave up their best interior defender in Diop, and while every team in the West Coast is trying to shore up their interior presence, the Mavs shored it down. Of course I know Avery will have his own explanation of it and he can also make adjustments, but it’s just that West is armed with great biggies that can turn things around easily come playoff time.
But I think Dallas would not be like the old Phoenix as many say. I believe Avery and his staff is known for having a systematic offense. Avery is the BEST coach in the league and I believe he can make any adjustments. So for all the critics and panhandling that the trade had received, I think I will not add anything to them. Instead I will take a short time on joining the Mavs on celebrating the prized acquisition that they got (as well as all the drama that made it more exciting). Welcome to the Dallas Jason!

The Lakers brought in Pau GASOL. SHAQ is now a Suns. KIDD will play for the Mavs.
About Jason KIDD, you must admit his not getting younger and almost certainly like everyone else, he dreams of winning a Championship.
Twice he lost it with the Nets and since then NJ Nets are not the same as they use to be. Even if they had Vince CARTER.
It will interesting to see how the play off shape up and I can tell you my man GINOBILI and SA Spurs will have step it up harder if they want to clinch back to back titles.

A good coach knows how to adjust! But we saw how Avery breakdown during the last 2 playoffs (Heat and Warriors)… THis trade is not a good one for the MAvs because they’ve given up one of their primary assets in Harris (Supreme quickness) and as well as their future leader. He may not be like Kidd or never be like Kidd, but if your talking about Avery’s systematic offensive system, then there’s no need for a Kidd anymore right?
Another observation here is that they don’t need Kidd to cover for their low morale following the team’s consecutive Playoffs breakdown.. What I think should be the solution is let Cuban talk to his players and build a better all-around relationship, as well as avery to the team. Also, they should lift some of the pressure they’re giving on their team. They have a high expectation for the team to succeed, not bad actually, but not all players are responding well to pressure (Nowitzki)…
