Boston Likes Marbury

With the disgruntled Stephon Marbury continuing to enjoy the lifestyle of a man who shall earn $20+  million for doing nothing, a lot of teams are so much interested into taking risk with the cancer guard, specifically the World Champion Boston Celtics.

The Boston Celtics players told the media that they were not opposing Stephon Mabury’s addition to the team. Besides they feel its a nice addition to the team and could make them more competitive. This is what they say about Steph:

Ray Allen: “He’s been a great talent in this league for a long time,” “I don’t know the situation that happened with him in New York, but I know he’s got a lot of basketball left in him.”

Paul Pierce: “He’s a rare talent. … It’s an unfortunate situation that he’s not on the court right now.”

Kevin Garnett: “I’m not opposed to Steph. I feel like Steph has a lot of basketball in him and his IQ is very, very high,” “He is one of the best point guards I’ve ever played with. I wouldn’t be opposed to that. If Steph came to this team and made it better, I’m all for that.”

Rajon Rondo: “People may think it’s a bad idea, but I kind of think it’ll help us,”  “I’m new in this league and I’ve heard a little about his reputation, but I’m not going to judge him.”

Seriously I would really like to see Stephon wearing the green jersey for two reasons. Its either it could make the Celtics more competitive even in the longer run or Stephon could bring all of them down which is a good thing either. ;-) At teh end it all boil down to Marbury’s pride and decision. It’s pretty much that its going to go nowhere unless Steph let the Knicks make a cut at his salary. If not, teams may start losing interest in him. Come on douchebag, don’t miss the opportunity!

  1. That’s the thing Mel, will the Knicks ever let him go? My feeling is yes, but they will wait until the final moment, right before the trading deadline they will release him. I was a bit surprised by the fact that the Cektics are so in love with him, but who would’ve expected to say that there’s a strong possibility this June it will be “Stephon Marbury: NBA Champion”?

  2. Cektics? Celtics! My bad…..

  3. Juno,

I agree w/Gerard.. You would really never know… i mean steph is just a guy and I believe the team celts are matured enough to make him not destroy the team

  4. Melvin,

@gerard, celts feel its too good to be true. Steph obviously still has a lot in him and they’re willing to take the risk..

  5. To be honest: I would be glad if he finally isn’t with the Knicks anymore. Every single day I check Hoopshype.com to see if there are any new rumors / stories out there, and every single day for the last 15, years there is something about Marbury. Should be a movie: “There’s something about Marbury”
