After going 8-6 in December, and hearing positive news about No. 1 draft pick Blake Griffin’s impending return, things were looking bright for the Clippers. Then reality hit.
The team has gone 0-4 in 2010, including a bizarre momentum-killing loss in Memphis last night. To make matters worse, the Clips announced that Griffin, who was on track to debut in latter this month, will undergo additional surgery on his left patella, forcing him to miss 4-6 months of action.
Now fans are talking about Greg Oden, as the former No. 1 will be forced to play his first NBA game in November ‘10.
After experiencing some discomfort during his recently-accelerated rehabilitation program, Clippers’ forward Blake Griffin was examined Tuesday afternoon by Dr. Neal ElAttrache in Los Angeles.
As a result of that examination, it has been determined that the healing in his left patella area has not improved to the expected required level. Griffin will undergo a surgical procedure in the near future, with a recovery prognosis of four to six months. Team personnel will be made available to the media.
